After taking on site dimensions and getting some inspiration pictures I designed and built this full surround mantle. The mantel was designed to replicate the existing wainscot panel walls in the family room, integrate with the existing crown moulding, and had to overcome some challenges including how to access a gas line valve and a wall electrical outlet without being an eyesore.
The result was a full mantel with matching hand made raised panel areas, a recessed gas line access, and all done in time to be painted and decorated before Christmas.
