Break out of the tract home appearance by adding crown moulding

Around Southern California there are street after street of homes which are virtually identical both inside and outside. Painting and landscaping alone will never change the fact that inside they are drywall box-like structures. And a way to make a dramatic difference with homes like these is to break up the squarish drywall room appearance by adding crown molding.

But even with crown molding it is easy for people to fall into the very familiar crown profiles which can make a home look tract home cookie cutter.

That's why we enjoyed installing this elegantly simple moulding today. It is a Windsor one profile that is a simple 4-1/2" cove. It makes the ceiling look like a cove ceiling and fits nicely with the existing 50's/60's architecture.
